ENGR 296: Professional Project Design
The Project Design Course is intended to provide a problem analysis and system design experience similar to professional practice, and the opportunity to practice and perfect the skills of technical writing and oral presentation. All MSOL students must complete a total of four credit hours of the project course in a subject of interest with respect to their specialization area.
Course Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the engineer will be able to:
- Demonstrate an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
- Demonstrate an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to gather, analyze, and correlate professional information relating to their project
- Demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
- Gain knowledge and understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively
- An awareness of the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, business, environmental, and societal context
- Demonstrate an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
